Charity ride from Cologne to Dunton – Road to Better

In 2023, two Ford colleagues from Valencia took up the challenge to cycle the 2,000 km distance from Valencia to the Ford plants in Cologne Merkenich to support a charitable cause and strengthen the connection between the two European Ford plants.

This inspired a group of 5 colleagues from Product Development in Cologne Merkenich to take up the baton and continue the journey from Cologne to the UK. The aim of the new edition is to get Ford colleagues at the Ford campus in Dunton excited about the idea of a charity ride with the same approach.

From 12 April, they will embark on a journey of almost 600 km in 4 stages and hope that as many as possible will actively support the good cause financially.

Do you want to be part of this initiative and support this charitable cause? Would you like to wear our kit?

Can you help us echo the initiative by wearing a t-shirt?

All garments have a donation component that will be allocated equally to benefit the DAT KÖLSCHE HÄTZ and JDRF Foundation.

Be part of our team, be part of our motivation!

Together we will achieve it!

Our team is incomplete without you and our efforts will be worthless without your support.

Thank you very much for your cooperation.

DAT KÖLSCHE HÄTZ

JDRF

DAT KÖLSCHE HÄTZ collects donations in favour of the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Köln e.V.. Since 1990, the association has been committed to sustainably improving the living conditions and environment of children and young people with cancer who are being treated in Cologne.

This environment primarily includes the family members. They not only have to deal with the problems of the sick children, but also have to cope with all the other peripheral problems of their everyday lives. In particular, this includes the double burden in terms of work, travelling to the clinic, accommodation on site and the burden on siblings.

The support association has taken on this task and created a liveable environment for parents and siblings by building the «parents’ house» in the immediate vicinity of the paediatric clinic. Parents living further away are also offered the opportunity to stay close to their children for the duration of their hospitalisation.

JDRF, the leading global type 1 diabetes charity, works every day to help people live better with the condition, prevent people ever developing it and one day, find cures. We do this by funding research, campaigning for access to all treatments and connecting and supporting the type 1 community.
